The reigning pursuit world champion, Franziska Preuß, is set to compete alongside Justus Strelow in the Single-Mixed event for Germany at the Biathlon World Championships in Lenzerheide. The mixed duo will vie for another medal on Thursday at 16:05 (local time) on ARD and Eurosport.
Preuß (30) and Strelow (28) were part of the mixed relay that secured a bronze medal during the opening of the Biathlon World Championships in Switzerland last week. Additionally, Preuß has already claimed gold in the pursuit race and silver in the sprint. She is poised to become the first German biathlete to participate in all seven events at the World Championships.
The German Ski Association is still in search of its first World Championship title in this non-Olympic discipline. The Single-Mixed event has been included in the World Championship program since 2019. The only medal won in this event was by Preuß and Erik Lesser in 2020 in Antholz, where they secured silver behind Norway on the Olympic tracks for 2026.
