Lea Sophie Friedrich, the renowned German track cyclist, has lost her world record in the 200-meter time trial. During the Nations Cup held in Konya, Turkey, Chinese cyclist Liying Yuan made history by setting a new record of 9.976 seconds.
The 19-year-old Yuan has now become the first woman to complete the distance in under 10 seconds. Friedrich’s previous record, which she achieved during the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, stood at 10.029 seconds.
