Karsten Tadda Set to Retire as Bundesliga’s All-Time Player

Karsten Tadda becomes the all-time player in the Basketball Bundesliga with 639 games. His career comes to a close after this season.

Karsten Tadda has achieved a remarkable milestone in the Basketball Bundesliga, becoming the league’s all-time player with 639 games played. The 36-year-old set this record during the Bamberg Baskets‘ match against ratiopharm Ulm, surpassing the previous record held by Alex King.

Throughout his career in the Bundesliga, Tadda has played for several teams, including the Gießen 46ers, ratiopharm Ulm, EWE Baskets Oldenburg, and Telekom Baskets Bonn, in addition to the Bamberg Baskets. His time with Bamberg has been particularly successful, where he claimed five German championships and three cup titles. In 2023, he also won the Champions League title with Bonn.

On the national team front, Tadda represented Germany in 89 matches between 2012 and 2019 as a shooting guard.

As he approaches the end of his career, Tadda is expected to play his final Bundesliga game on Sunday against Rasta Vechta at the Brose Arena, potentially marking his 640th appearance.
