Ibrahim Maza Transfers from Hertha to Bayer Leverkusen

Ibrahim Maza Transfers from Hertha to Bayer Leverkusen

Ibrahim Maza, a promising talent from Hertha BSC, has officially transferred to Bayer Leverkusen, signing a contract until 2030 and bringing crucial funds to his former club.

Hertha BSC’s offensive player Ibrahim Maza has officially joined the reigning champions Bayer Leverkusen. The 19-year-old Algerian international has signed a contract with the club until 2030, as announced by Bayer.

Sporting director Simon Rolfes commented, „Ibrahim fits us and our style of play.“ He highlighted Maza’s excellent technical skills, dribbling ability, and his capacity to assist teammates effectively.

In Leverkusen, Maza could potentially become the long-term successor to national player Florian Wirtz.

Transfer Brings Significant Revenue to Hertha

The transfer had been anticipated in recent weeks. Hertha’s sporting director Benjamin Weber noted that Maza seized the opportunity to prove himself at the top of the Bundesliga and on the international stage. He expressed gratitude for Maza’s contributions, stating, „We want to thank Ibo for the many beautiful moments, great goals, and all the passion he showed for Hertha BSC.“

Maza had a contract with Hertha until 2027. Reports suggest that this transfer will generate around twelve million euros for the financially struggling club. While it brings in necessary funds, it is also a significant loss for Hertha, as Maza is regarded as the most promising talent to emerge from the club’s academy in recent years, having been one of the key players for the team this season.
