Strong Performance in Berlin
Helen Kevric marked a successful return to the all-around competition, dominating the second qualification for the women’s gymnastics European Championships in Leipzig, held in Berlin. The 17-year-old from Stuttgart scored 55.100 points in the four apparatuses: floor, vault, uneven bars, and balance beam. This event was her first all-around competition since the allegations of abuse were revealed at the Kunst-Turn-Forum Stuttgart, where her performance on the uneven bars earned the highest score of the day at 14.400 points.
Results from Previous Qualification
In the first qualifying event two weeks earlier in Mannheim, the eighth-place finisher in the all-around at the 2024 Paris Olympics participated on only two apparatuses. The competition was won by Silja Stöhr from Mannheim with 52.750 points, ahead of Chemnitz gymnasts Karina Schönmaier (52.400) and Lea Quaas (52.000). In Berlin, Stöhr scored 50.500 points, placing her fifth, while Schönmaier (52.450) and Quaas (52.150) secured the second and third spots, respectively.
