Leon Draisaitl played a pivotal role in guiding the Edmonton Oilers to a 4-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights in the opening game of the second round of the NHL playoffs. Draisaitl scored the equalizer early in the third period, bringing the score to 2-2, after previously assisting on the Oilers‘ first goal that cut the Golden Knights‘ lead to 2-1.
In this playoff run, Draisaitl has now accumulated four goals and eight assists. The Oilers will face the Golden Knights again in Las Vegas for the second game of the series, before the best-of-seven series shifts to Edmonton for two matches. To advance to the NHL semifinals, a team must secure four wins.
In the Eastern Conference, the Carolina Hurricanes secured a 2-1 overtime victory against the Washington Capitals, taking the lead in their series after the first game.
