In their quest for the best position heading into the playoffs, Bayern Munich’s basketball team achieved a necessary win. The defending champions defeated the already relegated bottom team BG Göttingen with a score of 94:86 (48:36), thereby maintaining their first place ahead of ratiopharm Ulm. Ulm secured a victory against Heidelberg, winning 90:74, and now trails Bayern by one win with two matchdays remaining in the regular season.
During the week, Bayern made headlines with two significant personnel announcements. Long-time managing director Marko Pesic will step down from his position at the end of the year, while coach Gordon Herbert is set to take over the Canadian national team starting in the summer of 2026. However, this does not mean that Herbert will leave Munich in a year, as a dual-role arrangement is possible.
