Thomas Müller bids farewell with beer shower and funeral joke

In a typical display of his personality, Thomas Müller, the departing Bayern Munich star, was already drenched from beer showers when he took to the stadium microphone for one last time. „I have a joke prepared,“ he announced following his final home match for FC Bayern, before heading into a lengthy night of celebrations with his team.

„Please forgive me, humor is quite individual,“ Müller continued. „I searched for a farewell joke but couldn’t find one that I liked. So, I looked for something a bit darker: related to funerals. Picture this: a father is on his deathbed, and his three children are gathered around. Suddenly, the aroma of his favorite cake wafts through the air, baked by their mother. The father asks one of his sons, ‚Please bring me a piece of my favorite cake.‘ The son returns empty-handed. The father inquires, ‚What happened to my cake?‘ The son replies, ‚Mom said it’s only for after the funeral.'“
